Perry founded Opal Hospitality in 2018, beginning with the complete reimagination of the DoubleTree by Hilton in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Under his leadership, Opal has grown into a multi-brand hospitality company managing properties across Canada and the United States under Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Best Western, and Choice Hotels flags.
Before founding Opal, Perry served as Director of Asset Management at The Silver Hotel Group and spent over a decade as Director of Operations at Northampton Group, developing award-winning properties across Canada — including the world’s first Aloft Hotel by Marriott in Montreal. He also served on owner’s boards for Holiday Inn and Sheraton. Perry studied business management and accounting at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
