In the late fall of 2022, the Best Western Plus opened new in Parry Sound. Uniquely located just off the highway, close to the town’s centre, and only a three-hour drive from Toronto, the hotel appeals to both transient and group, corporate as well as leisure. It competes with both local Parry Sound area and neighbouring Muskoka hotels and resorts. |

What Opal Executed

Opal provided project consulting and project management, working with the brand regarding compliance to standards and managing the pre-opening task list. Opal also managed preopening procurement, maximized brand support, organized leadership training, and assisted with other preopening training and set up. After opening in the late fall of 2022, Opal worked collaboratively with the hotel GM and team to maximize results focused on guest experience, human resources management, revenue management, operational efficiencies, and sales. The Best Western Plus quickly ramped up rates and occupancy achieving extremely strong Smith Travel (STR) index results, against a tough branded hotel comp set, often doubling fair share. |
