Akshay Hira leads Opal Hospitality’s U.S. operations as Managing Partner, overseeing the growth and performance of Opal’s American portfolio. He brings over two decades of hospitality experience spanning revenue management, general management, and ownership — having operated properties under Hilton, Marriott, Choice Hotels, and Best Western across the Carolinas and Tennessee.
Akshay founded Diamond Point Hospitality in 2013 and has owned and operated multiple branded properties, including Best Western Plus Knoxville/Cedar Bluff, which he continues to operate today. He currently serves as a Best Western Governor, Chair of the Best Western Marketing Advisory Committee, and Chair of the Tennessee Marketing Co-op Committee — bringing deep brand relationships and franchise expertise to Opal’s U.S. strategy.
